About the area |

Coventry
and its surrounding towns of Nuneaton, Hinckley, Kenilworth, Warwick,
Rugby, Stratford upon Avon and Leamington Spa are steeped in history.
Once forming the manufacturing heart of Britain during World War II,
then rebuilding itself as the automotive centre of the UK through
the 60's and 70's. Coventry and Warickshie has a blend of history,
culture, with modern businesses and retailers with new stores opened
like Primark and the up and coming Ikea, opening later this year.

The area boasts some of the best and brightest with the likes of IBM,
Jaguar Cars, Marconi, and Capita (who collect the London congetion
charges). The Ricoh Arena, which not only hosts the Coventry City
Football Club, but also becomes an arena for concerts, with the likes
of top acts Bon Jovi and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. In May this year,
the new Isle of Capri Casino is opening, with a Las Vegas atmosphere.
Later this year the new Belgrade Plaza will be opening, with the renovation
of the Belgrade Theatre which hosts a new hotel, restaurants, bistros
and cafes opening in by the end of 2007.
The city has two large and well-respected Universities and a number
of significant business and science parks.
The area is the centre of transport links, with the M6, M1, M42 and
M5 all leading directly into this area. Also the Midlands can boast
two international airports, Birmingham International and now Coventry
at Baginton.
